Who is eligible for the Marigold Challenge?The Marigold Challenge is a category specifically limited to women and girls! Women are encouraged to develop web solutions using no-code or low code tools that caters to the welfare of women and/or is of major benefit for the women of Sierra Leone. The category is sponsored by Marigold Initiative, who are dedicated to equipping girls with essential digital safety training and tech-focused experience.

How can I submit a valid entry for the Developers Challenge?To submit a valid entry the instructions are as follows: - Post about your submission on any social media platform. - Tag the organisers to the post @knesstconnect (the handle is the same everywhere). - Fill in the submission form. The link to the form can be found on this page. Scroll back up to find it.

Who is eligible to participate?KNESST Developers Challenge is open to participants at all ages and levels, but it is primarily designed for school leavers, college students and graduates.

When does the challenge end?Submissions will close on the 10th of November 11:59PM. Submissions after this time will not be accepted.

Can I participate as an individual or as a team?The challenge is open, you can choose to submit an individual entry or as a team of not more than 3 people.

What is the preferred submission scope?For a solution to stand the chance of winning, it should be functional and viable. This means a functioning prototype and a clear sustainability plan should be submitted.

What is the judging criteria?Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, innovation, presentation quality, viability and functionality of the solution. For the Qcell categories, there is an added advantage if the solution aligns with the vision and mission of Qcell. This means you will be scored higher if your solution provides a unique advantage and benefit to the Qcell Network.

Am I eligible to submit if i'm out of the country?The challenge is open to Sierra Leoneans and individuals resident in Sierra Leone that can leverage technology to showcase their skills.

What is next after the challenge?After the challenge, there would be an opportunity for the top performing individuals or teams to present their ideas at a Demo Day. When is Demo Day you ask? This is yet to be confirmed. Be sure to follow us or join the WhatsApp group to be up to date.
